4 Signs That You Need to Get Organized

The words “get organized” are not something we look forward to hearing at work.  Yet, if we look at the situation the right way, getting organized can be a source of hope and determination. By the same token, some of us don’t even realize we need to get organized until we need to find something important that is buried in our office mess.  Here are 4 signs that you need to get organized.

1. Where’s My Stuff?

The biggest sign that you need to get organized is that you can’t find the things you need on a daily basis.  For instance, your phone is ringing from an unseen distance.  It’s rattling your heart, mocking you as your tear apart your office.  You make a further mess of your space as you frantically search, only to realize that your phone was in your desk drawer the entire time.  When that happens, it’s a clear sign that you are in need of some form of order. Not everything has to have a labeled compartment, but you should at least have a designated spot for your phone.

2. I Forgot the Time!

We’ve all been there.  We get busy working on a project and don’t realize the passage of time.  As a result, we suddenly realize that it’s an hour past our meeting time, and people are furious. Forgetting time should never happen in a business setting, and it doesn’t have to.  A good online appointment scheduler can put an end to missed meetings and other important events.  EZnet Scheduler® is a top-rated SaaS appointment scheduler that delivers quality and robust features at an affordable price. 3. Too Much Clutter.

Clutter is another sign that you might want to think about getting organized.  If you notice that your desk or conference table is used as a random artifact collector, then it’s time to make a change. Clearly, you need to rid yourself of the clutter and get organized.

4. Treat Yourself.

Every time you reduce clutter and neaten up your workspace, give yourself a reward.  Meet friends for lunch at your favorite restaurant or buy something you’ve had your eye on.  As a result, you’ll look forward to staying organized.  Furthermore, you’ll be less stressed out at work.
