We all get the “Monday Blues,” and there’s no harm in admitting it. After all, we just spent two days away from work or school, and the break was well-appreciated. However, our lives aren’t made of Saturdays and Sundays, and so we have to move on to the rest of the week. Luckily, there are ways to help hurtle yourself over that disappointment. Here are 5 ways to conquer your Mondays.
1. Get a good night’s sleep.
While it may be difficult to do, getting at least seven hours of sleep will significantly brighten your mood and clear your mind for the week ahead. It will give you energy. Moreover, it will keep you physically healthy. If this means going to bed early, then make sure you prepare everything you need to early in the day. You deserve that extra sleep time!
2. Prepare yourself physically.
Give yourself fifteen or thirty minutes in the morning to wake your body up. By that, we mean work out, take a walk, do some yoga, etc. As long as it is moderately physical enough so that every cell in your body can wake up happy.
3. Prepare yourself mentally.
Just like with the physical preparation, give yourself fifteen or thirty minutes to do something that you love. Read, meditate, have breakfast with your family, play with your pet. As long as it warms your heart and makes you happy, you’ll head into work feeling good all over!
4. Organization is key.
This is actually something you should do before Monday, preferably on Friday afternoon. Plan the following week so that when you wake up on Monday, you’ll know exactly what you’re walking into and you’ll have one less thing to worry about. On Sunday night, go over your schedule once more and preparing your weekly activities. Your Monday isn’t meant for stressing!
A great tool for this task is a good online appointment scheduler. Software Advice recommends EZnet Scheduler® as a top-rated SaaS product for this purpose. EZnet Scheduler is more than just an appointment scheduler — it’s also a resource management tool.
5. Give yourself something fun to do!
At the end of the day, give yourself a pick-me-up, like a game night with friends, a date, dinner at your favorite restaurant — anything that you can look forward to. This will keep your spirits up throughout the work day and will act as a reward for conquering the Monday Blues.
